Real Crawling

Saturday night, Feb. 21, 2009 was the first time Momma and Daddy saw Kate doing a real crawl instead of an army crawl. She just did it a few times to get to a few different things. She must have dreamed about it, because her real crawling improved immensley overnight. On Sunday (the 22nd), she was crawling around at lightning speed. Ok, it probably wasn't that fast, but it was definitly faster than we had ever seen her move. Since then, she has been a blur! She is into EVERYTHING and she is getting really fast!!! (and I love it). She is an absolute joy and she is even happier now that she can GO! However, Kate has now experienced getting in trouble as she especially loves to get into Momma's scrapbook stuff and Daddy's computer and TV cords. We have begun swatting her hand and telling her no and then moving Kate to her toys and playing with her with those. I know that she is interested in our stuff because we are doing it. I know some of you are thinking that she is too young to understand . . . you underestimate this little girl. If you have seen her do these things, you KNOW that she understands. She will look at you before getting them, and if you say "No", she will turn away and then go back when you are not looking. She is definitely tricky! I'm gonna blame that one on her dad, but I probably had something to do with it to. No pics this time, just wanted to put this on here before I forgot the dates!

Aww! Isn't it fun! Micaiah has been crawling for about a month or so now. He is into everything too. He seems to understand that no means to stop but after just a moment he usually turns right back to it so we take him to his toys as well. I think even if they don't understand you have to start now or it will be harder when they are older. Enjoy all of the trouble!

Don't be kidded a bit. You can count on the fact that she understands. By the way, you did the same thing so you can't totally blame it on her dad. :)

You are right, she is fast. She can fly across the family room if she thinks Kelsey is in her bed.
