I forgot to mention in Kate's 7 month post that she is very good at climbing the stairs. She gets better at it all the time. She is very fast and can get all the way to the top very quickly. (Don't worry, she is always closely monitored.)
The puppies are getting big and Kate loves them!
We got Kate's new toys in the back yard and she was having a blast with them tonight! I am so glad that we got them. And, I am taking a vote . . . Should we put mulch or something in the square play area between our back patio and the concrete slab where Justin's Galaxy is parked? We are thinking it will be a hassle to mow around the play equipment. Put your votes in the comments!
We had so much fun at your 1st birthday party! We love you so much!
Our little monkey is 7 months old now and she is WONDERFUL! She weighs 17lbs 9oz (55th percentile) and she is 28 inches long (95th percentile). Kate loves all foods and definitely knows the word 'bite'. She is now crawling very fast. She is cruising around furniture better all the time. She is even letting go with one had and turning and reaching for things. Her balance is very good. If she feels like it, she can stand unassisted for about 3 seconds. (She won't do this all the time, but she has done it several times so far). Just long enough for her to start squating to the floor (she gets nervous when she realizes she is standing alone). We love her more than we could have ever imagined. Here are her 7 month pics.
I got an AWESOME deal yesterday on craiglist. There were 2 different posts for outdoor play equipment. One was a Castle with slide and sandbox ($10) and the other was a toddler slide and swing ($15). They were posted at about midnight but it said not to call until after 5:00pm. I called right at 5:00pm and got his voicemail that said the first person to call after 5 would be the winner. So, I left a message. I kept calling and finally got an answer at 5:03, but he told me they were gone, he hadn't had time to check his messages yet, but he knew it was already gone. (I know this is a long story, bear with me). I thought that I was not the winner and I was kinda bummed about it. But then, I got a call at 5:50 and he told me that I was the winner! YAY!!! I was/am so excited. Kate will probably get more use out of these things next summer; but after playing on Brennan's slide, I know she will enjoy them this year too! I don't have pictures of them in our back yard yet, but here are some pics of the items.
Kate had fun spending time with family yesterday, but she is still a little young to hunt Easter eggs. The Easter Bunny brought some good stuff though.
All 5 cousins got their pictures taken together this afternoon. We were very happy with how well they did considering their ages. Kinley - 18 months, Brennan - 1 year, Kate - 7 months, Rachel - 5 months, and Jaxon - 7 weeks. Here are some of our favorites.
