Pulling Up

Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 was the first time Kate pulled up. I kinda thought that it might have been a fluke but posted it anyway. Maybe I was just hoping it was a fluke thing that she did on accident . . . but, it wasn't. Since she learned it, she does it on everything. She is still too short to pull up on the furniture, but she tries to pull up on everything else. She pulls up on Momma and Daddy, in the pack-n-play, in her crib, and on her toys. She enjoys pulling up and then holding on with one hand while trying to play with the other hand. Kate's balance is not fabulous yet, so this has resulted in several topples. She is always fine . . . we have a pretty tough little monkey. But if we see her fall, you better believe there will be crocodile tears. (if she doesn't see us, she just rolls over and keeps going). I almost forgot, Thursday Feb. 26 was the first time that she pulled up on a stair and actually climbed up one stair. She was trying for a second one when she got distracted and fell over backward. Much to Kate's delight, Daddy was there and ready to catch her! Don't worry, we have a baby gate so Kate can't go up the stairs unsupervised! One more quick note. Kate pulled up on the fireplace at Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Cole's house and took about 4 or 5 side steps on Monday, March 5th. She hasn't done it since, but that was the first time she tried. Again, no pics . . . just trying to keep everything posted so I can remember later!
