Has 1 Full Year already Gone By?

Oh Kate, we cannot begin to tell you how much you changed our lives. You are an awesome blessing from God and we couldn't be any happier! We love you more every day and you are growing up way too fast! We just couldn't be more proud of our little monkey!


Here you are at 1 year:
- 22 lbs, 30 inches (65th percentile of both) Everyone says that you are petite and the Dr. Jeff says that is because you are so strong.

- You are becoming more independant every day. You love to walk around the basement and discover all of your toys (you truly have too many!)

- You love to drink out of straws, especially at a restaurant

- Playing in a cup of ice is your dream

- You like to steal and hide the remote (Momma watched you take it and hide it in the kitchen drawer when you thought I wasn't looking).

- You love for Daddy and I to sit on the floor when you are playing so that you can bring things to us easier

- Your favorite book is Moo, Baa, La La La that Aunt Jamie just gave you for your birthday

- You are RUNNING everywhere, you have gotten so fast

- Vocab - Hi, Momma, Dadda, bite, up, no (not in a bad way, just answering questions)

- Constant vocab - Momma, Dadda

- Sometimes it seems like to accidentally say a word and then you smile like, "what a second, I forgot, I don't want them to know I can talk" (you are such a little mess, LOL)

- You love to figure things out, you are definitely a THINKER, Dr. Jeff says that (and that you are SO busy) is why you don't talk much

- Favorite foods: Madrin oranges, pasta, eggs with cheese

- Food dislikes: cantaloupe

- You are a Momma's girl, but you LOVE your Daddy

- You still cry when we leave you in Bible class, but you usually stop after a few minutes

- You PUSH, PUSH, PUSH your limits (you are completely aware that we are wrapped around your little finger)

- You are definitely a PISTOL - Momma and Daddy are getting paid back for our onery behavior (and you are only 1)

- Biggest temptations: Momma's cup of water, Daddy's DVDs, ANY remote, and any paper.

- You get things that you know you shouldn't have and when you get caught, you pretend that you were bringing them to us (you're a smart little thing)

- When you pull out your bow, you set it on your head and try to get it to stay

- You get in trouble the most for yelling and throwing a fit (usually after you don't get your way)

- You love to sit in chairs that are your own size

- You give GREAT kisses - completely open mouth and tongue out (you usually make a clicking noice with your tongue after the kiss)

- Your hand-eye coordination is VERY good, but you are very, very, VERY impatient

- You have a small biting problem (this mostly only affects Rachel) You have bitten her several times when you are excited or when you are frustrated. You have also tried to bite Momma a couple of times when you didn't get what you wanted.

- You love to sleep with blankies and try to steal them out of your crib during the day (you would drag them around EVERYWHERE if we let you). You improvise well and will carry around anything that slightly resembles a blanky

- You love to carry a purse, you were straining in church trying to pick up MiMi's purse

- Grandpa Oakley jokes that you will grow up to be a fighter pilot because you love to be tossed around and upside down.

- You are extremely jealous, Momma, Aunt Michelle, and GGma can't get away with holding another baby. You even get upset if Momma pets a dog.

- You know when you are tired and LOVE getting in your crib after a long day. You also get excited to see your crib after a weekend away.

- You can identify your nose, toes/feet, bellybutton, hair/head, mouth
