Big Accomplishments!

Kate has accomplished some pretty big feats this weekend. First, she sat up on her own for 27 seconds. (that is the longest ever). Please note: We stop counting if her hands touch the floor. She can sit up for much longer when she leans on one or both hands. Second, Kate rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time yesterday. And . . . she did it twice. We were able to catch the second one on Aunt Kayla's video camera. Maybe I will be able to post the video some time. Prior to this, she had only rolled over from her tummy to her back and she only did it in her crib when she was waking up. She had never rolled over on purpose when she was just laying on the floor. It was very exciting!!! Also, Kate is constantly becoming more coordinated with her hands. She got a toy train for Christmas and had like it, but had a hard time grabbing the balls out of it. (Cousin Brennan was more than willing to help with that). However, on Saturday, she sat with the train in front of her and was grabbing the balls. (She can sit a really long time with a toy that is big enough to help her balance). She is also much more content playing on her own in the jumperoo, exersaucer, and even on the floor. We used to have to play with the toys for her so that she could look at them. But now, she wants to do it herself, and she tries to put every toy in her mouth. This is especially funny since some toys are attached to the exersaucer. She just opens her mouth and leans forward trying to get them, its too cute. Momma and Daddy are so proud of our little monkey and can't wait to see more of her exciting accomplishments!!! I really need to post some more pictures, but for now, just an update.

It's was really neat to see her roll over. It was also really FUN to watch her momma jump up and down cheering.

Each milestone seems so bittersweat to me. I love watching the new things but it also reminds me that he is growing up so quickly! Way to go Kate!
