Jordyn's Birthday

On Tuesday, February 22nd, Daddy and I arrived at the hospital at 5:00am to get checked in. We got in a room and several people asked me what seemed to be the same set of questions. When Daddy went for a potty break, the nurse quickly and quietly asked me 2 questions regarding domestic abuse and if I felt safe taking the baby home with him. Wow! I couldn't believe that is something they have to ask people. That is just so sad. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they ask for those that need it, but it is just very sad. Moving on . . . the nurse put in my IV in one try (much to my delight). By the time everyone was done asking me questions, it was 6:30am and time to head to the operating room. They whelled me down to the OR and had me walk in to the operating table. Then, the anethesiologist started working on my epidural. It went it very easily and the worst part was him poking his fingernail in my back to see where he wanted to put needle in. My legs were numb very quickly and I felt like I was falling when they had me lay down. The whole process was very fun and stress free for me. I could feel pressure when they would tug (you should hear Justin's account of that . . . he watched most of the time). Jordyn came out screaming and she was in a bed where I could see her while they were stiching me back together. After Jordyn was born, they told me to expect some pressure. I definitely felt some and asked, "What was that?" and my doctor casually says, "We were putting your uterus back in." to which I replied, "It was out!". Overall, there was lots of talking and joking between me and Justin and the doctors and nurses and it was a very good experience. Having a scheduled c-section was definitely the right choice for me!

Glad it was all a great experience! Don't know if I would feel the same way about someone sticking a huge needle in my back and cutting me open! :) Excited to meet Jordyn!
